- Adobe very often releases updates for Adobe AIR Runtime. So there may be a possibility that you have not updated Adobe AIR Runtime to the latest version. FIX: Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe AIR runtime. If not, install the latest version from here: Adobe AIR; 5. Antivirus is blocking the installer file. It is also possible that.
Adobe Air brings following exception:
While holding the “command” key, double click on the Adobe AIR Application Installer. Do not take your finger off the “command” key until you see the window open up. Select and open the AIR application to be installed. The Adobe AIR Application should be installed successfully.
The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author.
Please add the different reasons which may lead to this error.

We had the same error as this guy:
The file ~/.airappinstall contains the following error:
failed while unpackaging: [ErrorEvent type='error' bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text='invalid package signature' errorID=5022]
The actual reason was not a damaged file or something like this, but our machine had a date from the past, which was not valid for the given certificate. After correcting the date/time on the computer, the installation worked just fine.
Even I faced the same
error=5022
, after thinking a lot on this issue, I finally got the solution for this problem. It is simple, before installing the air app set the correct Date & Time for the system, WALLA it installs smoothly. No need of changing the png name or anything else.
I faced this problem yesterday because my antivirus (avast pro/silent mode) was blocking access to file until finishing scanning, looks like installer don't like to wait, so when I switched off silent mode I made antivirus ignore scanning the file and installation completed successfully.
I have a virtual drive mapped to S: so that paths are the same between my home computer and work computer. I was trying to install the AIR app from an S: path. I guess it did it like it. Moving app to my desktop and launching there, worked.
Make sure you are signing the Application distributable and distributing the certificate along with the .air file.
I ran into same problems and solved it this way.

I had this issue when using Flash Builder 4, but building a Flex 3 application.
Basically, the installed AIR SDK in the Flex 3 SDK folder was AIR 1.5.3 (if I remember correctly), but the Flex 4 SDK folder had the AIR 2.0 SDK files (I'm not completely what the problem was). Download entire website php.
Adobe Air Installer Damaged Version
My solution was to download the AIR 2.0 SDK, and unzip it over the Flex 3 SDK folder. Once I did that, the installation file worked fine. There is actually an article on Adobe about overwriting the AIR SDK files this way, although it didn't mention anything about installations or Flash Builder 4.
Adobe Air Application Installer Is Damaged And Cannot Be Opened
Mine was failing because I had another app on my system with the same name. Not a version of the app, a completely different app--native, not AIR.
Australian visitor visa form. Once I removed that app it worked fine.
For odd installation errors, keep in mind that Chrome uses a version of Flash that does not support AIR badge installation.
Adobe Air Installation
I encountered this error when trying to install an AIR file from an external / network drive. Copied the file locally, and installation proceeded normally.

Oh, you folks are gonna love this one. Cause I am totally lost on how to remove it.
Here's what happened. I was in the process of creating a document folder in order to move a saved file into it which was created by Word 2007. Now, I do believe I moved the Word file into the new folder. However, he is what I see:
Sorry, an error has occurred. The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author.
The file itself reads:
Document Scrap 'iPAQ 3955 Contac..' Scrap Object
When I try to delete this file and send it to the recycle bin, I get the following message:
Cannot delete Document Scrap 'iPAQ 3955 Contac..': It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again. Ok
There is no other person using this file except for me. My notebook computer is not on a common network shared by many users. My notebook computer is on my own local area network involving just my router, modem and printer. And my LAN is encrypted accordingly. That's it! So, I can safely rule out another person using this file.
I've closed the program--Word 2007--that created the file. So I have closed the program that created this scrap file.
I've tried several things so far to delete this file from the folder:
I've updated Microsoft Word 2007 with KB 974631
I tried installing Adobe Muse but removed it shortly thereafter. Adobe Air was also installed at the same time, but I left it installed on my computer. You see when I did some research on this problem links pointed me to finding Adobe Muse and removing it from my Add/Remove programs. I didn't find it originally, so I thought it may be a good idea to install it and see what happens. Well, it didn't change anything, so that's why I removed Adobe Muse.
I tried to do a System Restore back to 13 Feb 14, but I got a message that no change was made. I tried this because this was the day just before the problem occurred this morning 14 Feb 14. I don't know if I should try restoring my system to a day before the 13th of Feb 14.
I also tried to delete the entire folder containing the scrap document. And I get the same message when I tried to just delete the file and send it to the recycle bin: 'Cannot delete Document Scrap 'iPAQ 3955 Contac..': It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again. Ok'
I also tried to create another document in Word 2007 and save it to the folder I created to see if it would properly save in the folder. It does appear in the folder. So, that works properly, and I deleted it from the folder. All was fine in this test.
So, dear expert tech people, I am confused and stumped on how to remove this Scrap file from the folder holding it. What do I need to do to get rid of this file and folder from my computer?
Thank you.
